Meet Our Providers
Dr. Deborah Anders
Dr. Anders received her Doctorate of Dental Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry in 1985. She has practiced dentistry in Black Mountain for over 30 years. She completed her undergraduate studies at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina. She earned a major in chemistry and a minor in biology. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, the North Carolina Dental Association, the Buncombe County Dental Association, the Christian Dental Society.
Growing up as the daughter of a US Army soldier, Dr. Debbie has learned to appreciate the unique and diverse world that we live in. Warren Wilson College expanded her awareness of giving back to the community through service projects and the work program. Before graduating from Warren Wilson College, she was blessed to meet and marry her husband, Steve. They have been married for more than 35 years. Steve received his teaching degree at Warren Wilson College with a history major. He has taught and coached at A. C. Reynolds High School in Asheville for over 25 years.
As the mother of two grown children and a grandmother of five, Dr. Anders knows how special you want your child to be treated. She has additional training in orthodontics, implant restoration, cosmetic dentistry, business management, and Ozone Therapy. As a professional, she is focused on details relating to gentleness, comfort, honesty, dependability, and pride in her work.

What interests you most in your dental career?
“I love the flexibility and variety — being able to pursue whatever interests me and benefits my patients’ oral health. I also enjoy training other dental professionals and helping those with little experience grow. But most of all, I value connecting with patients and helping them overcome fears or obstacles that have kept them from the dentist.”
What drives you toward excellent patient care each day?
“I’m a bit of a perfectionist! Dentistry is full of challenges, and I find it so rewarding to develop solutions and complete a plan that the patient is truly happy with.”
What excites you most about the future of dentistry?
“There’s still so much to discover to make dentistry better. And knowing that a robot can’t replace what we do — that true care comes from human connection and communication — gives me a strong sense of purpose and value in this profession.”
